Boston VoIP is an independent technology advisor serving Greater Boston from Andover, MA. We are not a carrier, a reseller, or an agent of any provider. This page explains how we are compensated, what we do and don't do, and the terms summarized in the Technology Advisory & Referral Disclosure Agreement every client executes before engaging us.
1. How Boston VoIP Is Compensated
Carriers and technology providers — not our clients — pay us. When you sign a service agreement with a provider we introduce you to, that provider pays Boston VoIP a one-time referral fee and, in most cases, a recurring monthly commission ("residual") based on your contracted monthly recurring cost. Commission schedules and rates vary from provider to provider.
You never pay us a fee for sourcing, evaluations, audits, or quotes. This compensation model is how our audits, comparisons, and project management stay free to you: providers compensate us when you sign.
2. What We Do — and Don't Do
We provide independent sourcing, evaluation, and introductory services. Where commercially feasible, we present three or more competitive provider quotes shaped around your operational requirements, and we coordinate number porting, implementation, and support logistics.
We do not design, build, host, resell, deliver, or warrant the underlying technology, telecommunications, cloud architecture, or managed services you purchase. Those are delivered under the provider's own agreements — their Master Services Agreement, their Service Level Agreement, and their support organization.
3. Your Choice and Your Due Diligence
You exercise sole and absolute discretion in selecting, contracting with, or rejecting any provider — including providers outside our network. Quotes and pricing we present come from the providers themselves, and we encourage every client to complete their own technical, operational, security, regulatory, and legal due diligence before signing. Boston VoIP is not a party to, an agent of, or a guarantor of any Master Services Agreement, Service Level Agreement, or Statement of Work you execute with a provider.
4. No Price or Outcome Guarantees
Vendor quotes, pricing matrices, and technical summaries are delivered as-is, based on figures providers supply. We do not warrant or guarantee that the quotes we present are the lowest or best available in the market, and our sourcing presentations are informational — they do not encompass every provider in the market. Pricing, savings, terms, and service outcomes vary by provider, location, and deal.
5. Independence — No Fiduciary Relationship
Boston VoIP operates strictly as an independent contractor. Nothing in our engagement creates an agency, partnership, joint venture, or fiduciary relationship. Because we are compensated by the providers in our network, we encourage you to weigh our recommendations alongside the compensation disclosure above.
6. Limitation of Liability
As set out in the agreement, Boston VoIP is not liable for any provider's acts, omissions, or outages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability under any legal theory is limited to the lesser of $500 or the commissions we received and retained on your contract during the three months before the claim.
7. The Agreement Itself
Every client executes the Technology Advisory & Referral Disclosure Agreement (PDF) before engagement. It contains the full scope, compensation, warranty, and liability terms summarized above and is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
8. Questions
We would rather over-explain than under-explain. If anything about how we are compensated is unclear, call (617) 468-1325 or contact us.
